Panagiotis Ilias is born in Aegina.
He studied at the School of Applied Arts and Design of the Technological Educational Institute of Athens. He is senior lecturer at the Photography and Audiovisual Arts Department, Faculty of Applied Arts and Culture, University of West Attica since 1983. He is a principle founding member of ARTICON – “Laboratory of Advanced Research Technologies for Investigation and Conservation” and Scientific responsible for photographic documentation.
Since 2004 he is qualified trainer for education in photography.
He has taken part in 3 group and 2 individual exhibitions with his artistic work and also in exhibitions concerning photography documentation (Benaki Museum Photography archives, Balafas).
His academic and professional interests focus on practical zone system and techniques for the BW photography and film, as well as digital photography and scientific documentation. His research work is published and presented at International conferences and journals.
